1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Our Envelope Budget ("the app"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. Description of Service
Our Envelope Budget is a personal budgeting tool that helps you organize your finances using the envelope budgeting method. The app allows you to connect bank accounts via Plaid, categorize transactions into envelopes, and share budgets with others through workspaces.
3. Not Financial Advice
The app is a budgeting tool only. Nothing in the app constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. We do not recommend any particular financial strategy. You are solely responsible for your financial decisions. Consult a qualified financial advisor for personalized advice.
4. Account Registration
You must create an account with a valid email address to use the app. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity under your account.
5. Bank Account Connections
- Bank connections are facilitated by Plaid Inc., a third-party service. By connecting a bank account, you also agree to Plaid's terms and privacy policy.
- We do not store your bank login credentials. Plaid handles authentication directly with your bank.
- Transaction data and balances are retrieved from Plaid and may not reflect real-time bank activity. Always verify with your bank for official account information.
6. Shared Workspaces
When you invite someone to a workspace, they gain access to all budget data within that workspace (envelopes, transactions, balances). You are responsible for managing who has access to your workspace.
7. Data Accuracy
While we strive to display accurate information, we do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of data retrieved from banks or displayed in the app. Balances and transactions may be delayed or differ from your bank's records.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to access another user's account or workspace without authorization.
- Interfere with or disrupt the app's servers or infrastructure.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app.
9. Account Deletion
You may delete your account at any time from the Settings screen in the app. This permanently and irreversibly deletes your account, all workspaces you own, and all associated data.
10. Limitation of Liability
The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data or financial loss, arising from your use of the app.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
